About the Event
I recently taught a stir fry class at our local library and asked the participants if they ever made a stir fry they loved. Practically every participant shook their head "no" in unison. I asked why, and the answer was "bland" and "mush." I was thankful that they were there and got to see (and taste) how easy a great one could be.
I didn't realize that a great stir fry was such a culinary mystery for so many folks, but the good news is that you can make one that's seasonal, fresh, crisp, and flavorful at home! All it takes is following a simple formula and learning how to create a balalanced sauce that contains salt, acid, spice, and sweet.
In this class, we're going to learn about choosing the right veggies for the job, how to cut the veggies so they'll cook evenly, how to make a sauce that's balanced and tasty, and how to avoid the dreaded pile of stir fry mush. And, as a bonus, we're going to make the fluffiest rice (or quinoa) you've ever had.
So won't you join us? We'll have tons of fun and learn lots of awesome culinary tips and tricks along the way.
This class will be Thursday, May 12th from 5:30-7pm EST via Zoom.
So go ahead and RSVP! I'll send you the list of tools and ingredients you'll need a few days before our class.
And, as always, this class makes use of some items from your perfect pantry ingredients!
Our recipes are all pantry-centered because we believe that having certain essential ingredients on hand is key to successful home cooking. We combine these pantry basics - whole grains, herbs, spices, and/or legumes - with a few fresh ingredients to create simple, affordable, nutritious, and delicious recipes that anyone can make.
